Ramon Alejandro

Ramon Alejandro, born in February 1943 in Havana, is a Cuban painter and writer who has lived in exile in Argentina, Uruguay and Paris. He now lives in Miami, Florida.

His artistic life began in 1969 with the exhibition “Alejandro” in the Maya Gallery in Brussels followed in 1971 by an exhibition of these same works at the Jacques Desbrière Gallery in Paris and in 1987 at the Galerie du Dragon, Paris.

He received the New York Cintas Fellowship for three consecutive years from 1969 to 1971.

His work can now be found in museums and collections in Europe and the United States, such as the Cabinet des Estampes, the Municipal Library of Angers in France, the National Library of France in Paris and the San Diego Museum of Art in California.
